Some Basics Rules for Preparation of Cilinical Exams

from the diary of  DR Mahjabeen Hira

Believe in yourself and ask Allah for blessing. Tell yourself that its your right to pass.
Know the diagnosis at the start. Ask the patient the reason for admission and she will reply with the diagnosis.
Knowledge plays 60% role,20% your personnel exam taking techniques / confidence  and 20 % is the luck factor.
Keep your viva simple. Give the simplest possible answer to every question. Only answer the question asked. Don’t try to impress the examiner by giving out of the way answer to make the impression that I also know this.
Never think that there is hidden trick in the question. Take the question as it is said. Generally viva finishes on day to day management and time is not left for recent advances, new developments, n researches unless you yourself invite the trouble.
Vivas are not made difficult by examiners but the candidates.
Don’t   show  your extra  knowledge
Prepare your practice bags today with all tools which u are going to use at your exam day
Make your own dedicated key book only at differentials at important gyne/obs presening complaints
Make a dedicated key book at recent advances for all important Obs/Gyn cases .
Make a dedicated book at short keys lets suppose at DM/ Anemia / HMB/ mass abdomen, so u can use these templates in any where in any case with slight +/- modifications..
Make group of 2 or 3 similar students and practice with each other.
initially u will take a lot of time but with practice u will learn. self practice is only key for long case success
Record your cases sent it to others for peer review and listen it  infront of  others / in group on speaker and continue till you are confident to present your case.
It will untwist your tongue and kill shyness.
